To be the best version of yourself, you need to take care of yourself! Even though it might feel rewarding in the present moment to improve your physical appearance, it’s so much more important to nurture your mind and soul. By finding peace and a sense of calm, you’ll be in the right headspace to tackle any of your goals. Plus, it’ll all give you a genuine sense of happiness.

Here are some ways that you can begin to kickstart you *inner* self-care journey:

Set Healthy Boundaries

In all kinds of relationships, there should be boundaries set in place. Not only is it good for people to understand your limits, but they can help keep yourself accountable too.

Focus On Your Goals

Isn’t it such a great feeling to finally achieve something you’ve been working towards for a long time? If you have a goal that you wish to accomplish, make a plan. Jot down everything you need to do every week to see it come to life. Before you know it, you’ll be setting up a game plan for your next big project.

Journaling Positive Affirmations

Writing can be a very relaxing activity for people. It can be even better when it involves positive words of encouragement to keep you pushing through each day. If you’re not a natural writer and feel stuck on where to start, just begin with what you’re grateful for in life.

Go to Bed Early

What’s better than waking up in the morning feeling refreshed and alive? Treat yourself to an early night’s sleep, and realize just how productive you are the next day. Getting an adequate amount of sleep is key for success, and it’s recommended to get close to eight hours of rest each night. Try getting approximately seven to nine hours of sleep every night for a couple of weeks, and see what works best for you!

Plan Your Meals

When you’re in a rush and can’t figure out what to eat, it can be easy to fall into the routine of ordering takeout. Not only can doing this get expensive, but it can also be quite unhealthy. By taking a few hours of one day each week, you can go grocery shopping and meal prep everything you’ll need. Plus, many people find the acts of shopping and cooking to be therapeutic - it’s a win-win!
